Since the 16th century, the name Sillem has been firmly established in the trade of valuable goods.
The Hanseatic League, and with it the Hamburg house of Sillem, earned merit through its contact with foreign cultures and, above all, new materials and craft techniques. At one time, Hamburg’s Jungfernstieg was even called “Sillem’s Bazaar.”
The Hanseatic style still stands today for timeless choice of materials and the highest perfection in craftsmanship.
Company History and Philosophy
Torsten Seiffert was the owner of the brand "Sillem’s" based in Kassel for over 40 years. He acquired the naming rights in 1985 and since then continued the tradition of the Hanseatic senator family Sillem’s as an elegant accessory brand, with the aim of combining aesthetics and functionality. Under his design direction, fine design emerged over more than four decades—especially small leather goods. Additionally, he also created exquisite objects made of sterling silver and other noble materials, distinguished by high-quality craftsmanship and timeless elegance.
Today, Sillem’s GmbH continues this tradition: Each of our pieces is crafted with the utmost precision – always following the principle: “The best of everything.” Our accessories are an expression of elegance, functionality, and enduring quality.
The symbol of our tradition – the anchor cross
A standout feature of the collection is the globally protected anchor cross – a stylized symbol inspired by Hanseatic heritage – which adorns all products and serves as a mark of recognition. On selected models made of 925 sterling silver, the cross is embellished with a blue sapphire – a gemstone symbolizing wisdom, loyalty, and magic.

Sillem’s crafts its accessories from selected 925 sterling silver or high-quality silverplate—each combined with noble materials such as hand-cut lead crystal, finest calf leather, or precious woods. Through traditional craftsmanship, timeless unique pieces with a special standard are created.
